Vertical storage tanks are produced by a number of manufacturers, which includes Norwesco, Ace Roto-Mold, Duracast, Snyder, and Poly-Mart. These seamless tanks are formed by rotationally molding high-density virgin polyethylene resin. Because they are made from plastic, the tanks have a natural resistance to rust, corrosion, and impact. The addition of UV inhibitors during production makes them resistant to sun degradation as well.

These plastic vertical tanks can be used indoors or outdoors all year round since they are capable of withstanding a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions. Vertical storage tanks have flat bottoms, so they can support themselves without the use of additional equipment. They are lightweight and can be moved manually when necessary. They have a long, useful lifespan and do not require maintenance.

Sunlight exposure is minimized for vertical tanks of opaque colors. This helps prevent algae growth within the tank when exposed to sunlight. Transparent tanks are offered in white, light blue, and yellow. All but yellow tanks are FDA Approved to store potable water and can be used for food-grade purposes.

Polyethylene vertical tanks are available in a vast assortment of dimensions and storage capacities ranging from 10 gallons up to 20,000 gallons. All vertical storage tanks come with a 3- year manufacturer’s warranty. Norwesco tanks with a 1.9 specific gravity come with a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty. Other standard features include the addition of a lid, an outlet installed at the base of the tank, and gallon indicators for convenient and easy liquid level viewing.

Manufacturers will install extra fittings as needed. National Tank Outlet offers customizations such as additional fittings, ladders, external fill lines, internal lines, tie- down systems, welded flanges, and welded couplings to the vertical storage tanks upon request. We also offer vertical storage tanks in Crosslink ( XLPE ) plastic. A majority of our tanks are NSF 61 approved.
